In 2010 whilst on holiday in Abruzzo, Nigel and I came across Palombaro and fell in love with the breathtaking views in and around the Maiella National Park.
With so many cultural and archaeological sites to visit depicting ancient stories, we were captivated by the history and curiosities; the tranquil scenery and quaint hilltop villages and towns with picturesque views out towards the Maiella mountains or over the Adriatic sea.
We were spoilt for choice in places to eat, where culinary traditions are deeply rooted in the recipes using fresh local produce such as the olive oil, cheeses and of course, "pasta alla chitarra", a typical pasta made in this area. As it turns out that holiday was the start of something wonderful. We knew this was where we wanted to live and six years later, our dream finally came true.
